If you’ve come here chances are I’ve forced you to and you already know who I am but for those that have accidentally stumbled on my blog let me introduce myself. I’m Michael. This blog is a place for me to rant and rave about the things I love or hate. It’s also a place I can practice my writing. So if you see anything wrong don’t hesitate to correct me.

I’ve had various blogs over the years which I’ve never actually allowed to go live. I always added to them and saved various posts for when I finally did publish the blog. I’m slowly honing my writing skills and decided it’s finally time to publish a blog. I’ve written for various websites ranging from football, gaming and retro gaming to movies. Some of these require regular contribution, without pay I might add, or they get rid of you. Bit of a scummy practice to expect regular content from writers without paying them. Not all the sites I write for expect this. Some are quite decent and don’t expect any kind of regular quota, they’re just happy for the varied contributors. So I decided that this is the best place for me to keep practicing my writing and if it’s my blog then I can write exactly what I want when I want.

My first post on this blog was on Everbody’s Gone to the Rapture. That was deliberate not only because it’s one of my all time favourite games but also because that’s where the name of the blog came from. Into the Void is named after one of the books in the game. I had various other names but I decided to settle on that in part due to the Black Sabbath song of the same name. The lyrics resonated with me and it’s no coincidence that they also have a connection to Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture’s story. The colours I chose for the site also resemble the colours of Rapture. I couldn’t help myself. Don’t worry, this blog won’t be an Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture dedication. I just thought it would be a great way to kick off the blog.

This blog wont just be gaming related either. I’ll be writing posts on movies, books and everyday things in life. But gaming and movies are a massive love of mine. Mainly movies. I’ve been a movie geek all my life. I love reading trivia on every film i watch, even the crap ones. I’ll watch behind the scenes features, interviews, watch films with directors commentaries on, deleted scenes, alternate endings. I’ll try and hoover up all kinds of info when it comes to films. I’ve been like this from a young age. Chances are a high percentage of my movie posts will be horror related. Same could be said for my gaming posts too. It’s my favourite genre in any form.

But that’s enough about me. I hope you enjoy my posts and if not then thanks anyway for stopping by. Oh and apologies for any swearing you may encounter on this blog. If you’ve seen my tweets or know me in person then you’ll know I have a propensity for swearing quite a bit.
